Mitchell Brown

Mitchell brings more than 25 years of real estate development, advertising, marketing, public relations and corporate communications experience to TORG. Mitchell has a broad-ranging background domestically and internationally and with both large, publicly traded companies and smaller, entrepreneurial organizations. Mitchell has overseen the opening of more than 30 outlet centers and the marketing of portfolios ranging from one to more than 700 shopping centers.

Mitchell began his career as a shopping center marketing director with Prime Retail, which grew into the US’s largest owner of factory outlet shopping centers. Mitchell had a diverse career at Prime Retail including positions as a shopping center general manger and various corporate marketing roles including the Vice President of Marketing and Corporate Communications (the company’s senior marketing role). Mitchell was instrumental in new developments, acquisitions and communications and oversaw the company’s transition from the NASDAQ to the NYSE.

Subsequent to Prime Retail, Mitchell was the senior marketing executive for Federal Realty Investment Trust and Centro Properties Group (both in the US and in Australia). At Centro, Mitchell was responsible for all areas of marketing and communications for the company, its three listed and more than 40 unlisted property investment funds and its property portfolio, comprising $26 billion in funds under management.

Mitchell has run a successful marketing consultancy advising clients such as Baltimore’s $1 billion State Center redevelopment project, Walmart and the University of Maryland.

Most recently, Mitchell served as Chief Operating Officer of Compco Americas, the leading provider of digital marketing and loyalty programs to the shopping center industry. In this position, Mitchell was responsible for the initial formation of the company including all structuring, legal, risk management, business development, product marketing and corporate operations. Mitchell was instrumental in securing clients such as Simon, Rouse Properties, Fashion Outlets of Chicago, Lincoln City Outlets and the Outlet Shops of Grand River.

As Chief Operating Officer and Senior Vice President of Marketing at TORG, Mitchell oversees the day-to-day operations of the company as well as heads up marketing for both the company and its clients.

Mitchell is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), sits on several non-profit boards and has received numerous marketing and advertising awards.
